Troy commitment Terris Lewis of Linden was awarded the Class 1A's Lineman of the Year on Wednesday.
Lewis did just about everything for Linden, the Class 1A state runner-ups. He's slated to be a linebacker for Troy. He committed to Troy while on his official visit.
According to scout.com, Lewis recorded 142 tackles, 12 tackles for loss and six interceptions during the 2011 season. He also had 26 catches for 544 yards and nine touchdowns as a tight end.
***Troy commitment Cody Core from Auburn is being pursued by bigger schools. He is visiting Kentucky officially this weekend, and has other schools vying for an official visit on the last weekend.
National Signing Day is Feb. 1, two weeks from today.
