Valdosta-Lowndes defensive lineman James Mathis also committed to Troy on his official visit.
Mathis, 6-foot-1 and 260 pounds, was hosted by wide receiver Khary Franklin, a former high school teammate of his.
"I felt pretty comfortable there," Mathis said. "I like the school, I like the lifestyle and I like how the coaching staff approaches things."
Mathis said he mostly defensive tackle in high school, and wasn't sure if he'll play end or tackle when he gets to Troy.
According to his MaxPreps.com page, Mathis had 60 tackles and three sacks. He was recruited to Troy by linebackers coach Benjy Parker.
