Butler County (Kan.) Community College defensive tackle Xavier Melton will sign with Troy on Wednesday, according to an e-mail from his father, Nathaniel St. Clair.

Melton is 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds and will compete for a spot in the middle of the line. According to St. Clair, an assistant coach at Winter Park (Fla.) High School, Melton runs a 4.8 40-yard dash, bench presses 450 pounds, squats 600 and power cleans 315.
Melton was a three-star prospect in high school and started his career at Purdue. Melton is from Lakeland, Fla.
I'll try to get up with Melton on Tuesday to get some thoughts from him on signing with Troy.
HERE is what scout.com said about Melton: "DT Xavier Melton - The Purdue bounceback came to Butler because the Boilermaker coaches wanted him to switch to offensive tackle and he felt he was a defensive line prospect. This season Melton earned Second Team All-KJCCC honors and has several FBS and FCS programs looking his way.
