Stuck in the BWI airport for a couple more hours before a flight to PC and drive home. Turns out, even being away, I can still update. So, through some searching, here's what I've been able to find.
Signing Day is 3 days from now.
***If there's a commitment, looks like it may be from Jones County (Miss.) defensive tackle Derrek Upshaw. He tweeted "Troy University!!!" Also, Upshaw started his career and played two years at Middle Tennessee.
But I hope to get Upshaw to tell me in some form or fashion that he committed before I add him to the list. (if only he had put the words 'committed to' in his twitter post!)
***Rivals.com said Yulee athlete Zach Camp didn't have a decision yet after his visit.
***Jones County defensive end Anthony Wilson said on his twitter he didn't have a decision yet.
***Melbourne, Fla., defensive end Jamal Stadom appeared to have a good visit based on his facebook posts, but I don't yet see confirmation of a commitment. Looks like his brother is Marty Stadom, who signed with Troy last year from JUCO, but didn't qualify to enroll last fall.
I didn't know what ever happened to Marty, but perhaps he finished his schoolwork in JUCO and is now at Troy. He wasn't listed on the midyear signees, though. Just check out this tweet. That makes it seem like both brothers will be at Troy playing in the fall, but we might just not find out until Wednesday.
Marty is also a defensive end. He could be at Troy finishing up academic work before he's eligible to practice or play, but it sure looks like he's at Troy. Maybe he didn't have to sign again after signing last year.
***It's now 1 p.m. CST. If I'm able to, I will update this post later.
***2:15 p.m thought - Marty Stadom may be in the same boat as WR Chip Reeves, who is back in school but likely not going through spring to get his academics in gear for the fall.
