Pretty much all Trojan fans with a pulse know this by now, but the New York Giants are heading to the Super Bowl to face the New England Patriots in Indianapolis on Feb. 5.
Three Trojans will be playing in the game: defensive lineman Osi Umenyiora, kicker Lawrence Tynes and rookie wide receiver/kick returner Jerrel Jernigan.
Tynes' kick in overtime gave the Giants the win. Four years ago, Tynes also hit the game-winning kick in overtime of the NFC title game at Green Bay.
Jerrel Jernigan's last six years in sports: class 5A state title runner-up, four straight outright or shared Sun Belt titles with three bowl games, and now a trip to the Super Bowl.
