Back home and still doing some work. Looks like Jamal Stadom of Melbourne, Fla., has committed to Troy. I haven't been able to get in touch with him, but if I see a recruit post on social media where he's going, it's good enough confirmation with me. Stadom confirmed it on his facebook wall, which is open.
I also feel good enough to add Derrek Upshaw to the commitment list. Upshaw is a defensive lineman from Jones County (Miss.) Junior College. Upshaw also confirmed it on his open facebook wall.
Hopefully I can get up with these two to write more on them, but if not, well there's always 2 years of college in Upshaw's case and 4 or 5 in Stadom's case.
Possible bad news for Troy, as Ole Miss's 247sports.com and Ole Miss's scout.com site are reporting that Cody Core has switched his commitment from Troy to Ole Miss after taking an official visit to Ole Miss this weekend. Core, a wide receiver from Auburn High, had been committed to Troy since last fall.
But they don't have any quotes from Core that I can find. Good thing we don't have to wait much longer for all of this madness as National Signing Day is in a couple of days.
9:20 update - Our man Jason Galloway of the Opelika-Auburn News, a sister paper of the Dothan Eagle, did confirm Core's commitment to Ole Miss through Core's head coach.
Late Sunday updates
