Troy offensive lineman James Brown is going to the NFL combine, to be held Feb. 22-28 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Brown is already slated to play in the Jan. 28 Senior Bowl in Mobile.
"He is easily worthy and has worked himself to be a very good candidate for the combine," Troy strength and conditioning coach Richard Shaughnessy said. "He can only help himself by going there and playing in the Senior Bowl."
The 6-foot-4, 312-pound Brown was a three-year starter at left tackle for Troy, though he could project as a guard at the next level.
"He's working hard to improve and I hope it will help him get selected higher (in the NFL Draft). He'll represent Troy in a good way," Shaughnessy said.
HERE is a list of other offensive linemen invited.
Juniors have not been selected yet for the combine. Shaughnessy said Jonathan Massaquoi had hired Pat Dye, Jr., as his agent and they'll push for him to be selected as well. Brown is being represented by Bus Cook (same agent for Brett Favre).
The NFL added eight regional combines for the first time this year. The closest one to Troy is March 10-11 at the Atlanta Falcons training facility.
