Super Bowl Update

Thomasville, Ala., athlete John Knight committed to Troy on Sunday.

Knight said he is an athlete and listed at 6-foot and 190 pounds. Knight played running back, cornerback, linebacker, safety and receiver for Thomasville, one of the top Class 4A programs in Alabama.

"I want to play on the defensive side of the ball," Knight said. "Strong safety, or something like that."

Knight said he picked Troy because, "I liked everything about the program."

Knight's main recruiter was defensive ends coach Randy Butler. He said he had recruiting interest from Kentucky, Southern Miss, South Alabama, Nebraska, Western Kentucky, Memphis and an offer from Jacksonville State.
