Super Bowl Update

Punter Will Scott from Gulf Coast (Miss.) Community College will sign with Troy during the midyear signing period and enroll in January.

Scott, originally from Lucedale, Miss., has impressive credentials. He was a second-team All-American at junior college this year and averaged 43.3 yards per punt. He will challenge for the starting job vacated by graduating senior Will Goggans.

"Troy's a great school," Scott said. "I really liked the coaches and liked the facilities. I was a straight on punter in junior college but did some rugby punting in high school. The (Troy) coaches said we'd do a little bit of both."

Scott will be a bit different from Goggans in that he doesn't expect to grow out a fantastic beard that Goggans sported over his last two years.

"I'm more of a shave every day type guy, but I guess anything could happen," Scott said.
