Super Bowl Update

Pretty much the entire city of Troy got its wish Sunday night, as the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 21-17 in a thrilling Super Bowl finish.

Troy alums Jerrel Jernigan, Lawrence Tynes and Osi Umenyiora (72) (Associated Press photos) were a big part of the game.

Tynes had field goals of 38 and 33 yards and kicked an extra point.

Jernigan had three kickoff returns for 71 yards.

Umenyiora had one tackle.

Tynes and Umenyiora both have two Super Bowl titles, and this was Jernigan's first.
