Super Bowl Update

Meant to post this earlier. Troy finished its rain-delayed game 2 with Central Michigan and won 12-10. Game 3 is when CMU got its revenge, taking that one.

So, 2-1 is good. Certainly things to work on, as the pitching after Game 1 had issues and some spots in the lineup started off slow, but that's why they play 56 regular-season games (or maybe it's 55 for Troy if they don't reschedule the lost fourth game with CMU).

No midweek game for Troy, which goes to Southern Miss next weekend for a 3-game set. The Golden Eagles took 2 of 3 against Nicholls State over the weekend.

11 a.m. add- Troy is ranked in this mid-major top 10 poll. I have no idea how Purdue is considered a mid-major.

Troy pitchers struck out 37 CMU hitters. Trojans did make 6 errors, with 3 of them coming from Collins at third. From where Troy's infield defense last year was outstanding, this group has a little ways to go to get to that point, but again, that's why it's a marathon and not a sprint.
