A couple of stories in the Tuesday Dothan Eagle that might be worth reading...
Former Alabama head coaches Bill Curry (Georgia State) and Dennis Franchione (Texas State) are looking forward to a transition to the Sun Belt. Story from talking to them last week in New Orleans - HERE.
Jon Johnson, sans mustache now after having it since he could grow facial hair, wrote THIS on Troy golfer Tolver Dozier, who went to Dothan High, qualifying for the U.S. Amateur Championship, to be held Aug. 13-19 at the Cherry Hills (Colo.) Country Club.
***Nice picture in this Macon.com blurb on wide receiver commit Shannon Smith. At his 6-foot-2 size, I'd think he develops into an outside receiver in the mold of Jamel Johnson if he gets bigger.
***Troy can't win all the recruiting battles, as Dothan High standout Adrian Kirkland picked UAB over Troy over the weekend. It's a good year for individual talent so far in the Wiregrass. Clark Quisenberry of Enterprise (Troy), Kirkland (UAB), Marquez White of Northview (Florida State), Kamryn Melton of Dothan (Auburn), and Roman Buchanan of Daleville (South Alabama) have all committed to FBS schools.
