LIN Media reported its second-quarter results this morning, and the numbers look good for the owner of Terre Haute's WTHI-TV (and four other stations elsewhere in Indiana).
The company's net revenue for the quarter came in at $121 million, a 20% increase over 2Q2011's $101 million. Strong gains were seen in political revenue ($7.6 million versus $1.8 million a year ago), interactive revenue (up 50%), and automotive revenue (up 25%).
During the quarter, LIN announced the purchase of 13 stations from New Vision Television, a transaction that is expected to close later in the year. The company also completed its sale of Fox affiliate WUPW in Toledo, Ohio, to American Spirit Media.
