WHAS11's six awards tops in Louisville; WLKY and Terre Haute's WTHI-TV win five each
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Ohio Valley Chapter honored several of its members Saturday night at the Belterra Casino, Resort and Spa in Florence, Ind. The 48th annual edition of the Regional Emmy Awards saw the major Louisville stations, WTHI-TV in Terre Haute, WKYU-PBS in Bowling Green and KET honored with numerous awards.
WHAS11 in Louisville and WTHI-TV were honored with awards for Station Excellence.
Including its Station Excellence win, WHAS accounted for the most awards of the stations in Louisville with six; WLKY was next on the list with five, while WDRB and WAVE each grabbed three.
WTHI-TV, Terre Haute's CBS/Fox affiliate, brought home five awards.
KET, Kentucky's statewide public television network, earned three awards, and Kentucky Afield host Tim Farmer of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife won in the Program Host/Moderator/Narrator category.
Bowling Green's WKYU-PBS, which is a service of Western Kentucky University, received one award for a special edition of MainStreet entitled "Kentucky Adventures Behind the Scenes.
