Super Bowl Update

KTVI-Fox 2 reporter John Gadson, who worked for the St. Louis Fox affiliate from March 2000 until he underwent surgery to remove a brain tumor and was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) two years ago, died Wednesday morning at a St. Louis assisted living center, the Post-Dispatch reports.

Gadson, who was just days shy of his 60th birthday, taught high school before getting into TV news, and had worked at TV stations in Evansville, Memphis and Greenville, Miss. before returning to his hometown 12 years ago.

"He had the most amazing laugh and wonderful smile, and the best sense of humor," said KTVI news director Audrey Prywitch. "I can't begin to tell you how much everyone here loved him."
