I'll be bogged down with the Dothan Pro Tennis Classic, AHSAA first round of the baseball playoffs and desk duties to do much of anything Troy-related this weekend. Good thing they are on the road. I'll resume the football blog posts next week.
But, to update, Troy baseball is at Western Kentucky this weekend. Troy hopes to make another trip there in 5 weeks for the Sun Belt Tournament, though that will be at the minor league park in Bowling Green. Trojans are 5-10 in league play, tied with UALR and ULM, and Western Kentucky is 6-9 along with ULL.
The top 8 teams (of 10) make the Sun Belt Tournament. Last year, UALR won the tournament as the No. 8 seed with a losing record. Troy and WKU play Friday at 6 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Troy's softball team picked up another nice win, 4-3 over Florida State. That's the third win over a team that was currently ranked for the Trojans, who also beat UL-Lafayette and Auburn earlier this season.
