I didn't have a football story in today's paper, but Troy returns to the field on Thursday, actually in a few hours, for the first of two practices.
I did write THIS STORY on the Troy Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which will be Friday night at the new Trojan Arena. I will be there covering the event and it's going to be a good one for everyone involved.
***Former Trojan wide receiver Stanley Arukwe, who had reached a deal with the Arizona Cardinals this spring, was released earlier this month, but the story has a happy ending, as Arukwe was signed by the New York Jets.
Camp for Jerrel Jernigan has started out well for the second-year receiver with the Giants. Jernigan should benefit more this year as he had an offseason to work with the team as the lockout prevented that last year.
Rookie defensive end Brandon Boudreaux is making an impression for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He never saw the field much at Troy but maybe the CFL suits his game more.
***Read even more about Danny Collins' record-breaking summer.
