Q102 repairs underway

WQXQ's transmitter power supply and audio processor to be replaced following lightning strike last week

Things aren't yet fully back to normal at Q102 (WQXQ-101.9 FM, Central City), but they're getting close to having the station back at full power.

As it turns out, the lightning strike late last week knocked out the transmitter's power supply, which is being replaced. "Beyond replacing that, we aren’t sure if there are further transmitter issues," said Rick Daniels, Q102 program director and afternoon host.

The station's audio processor also got "fried" by the lightning, and its replacement arrived today.  It's currently scheduled to be up and running Wednesday.

If all goes well, the station should be back at full power (it's currently at 25kW, one-fourth of its licensed power of 100kW) sometime Wednesday as well.  I'll keep you posted.
