Former WIKY program director and afternoon host Mark Baker dead at 57

There's sad news to report as word has been received that a former WIKY-104.1 FM program director and afternoon host has passed away.

Mark Baker (real name: Mark Wormsbaker) died unexpectedly Wednesday morning at his home in Mount Carmel, Tenn.  He was 57.

A native of Philadelphia, Pa. and veteran of more than 30 years in the radio industry as both an on-air personality and program director, Baker had been working at soft rock station WTFM-98.5 FM in Kingsport, Tenn. as that station's PD and afternoon host. He joined WTFM in 2007 after spending 13 years in Evansville at WIKY.

Mark is survived by his wife, Lucinda "Lu" Wormsbaker (air name Cindy Patrick); his daughter, Jaclyn Marie Wormsbaker and fiancé, Tony Brattain of Austin, Tex.; one son, Eric Turner Wormsbaker of Evansville; his parents, Neil and Ethel Robinson Wormsbaker of Mesa, Ariz.; siblings, Glenn Wormsbaker and wife, Lucy of Mesa, Ariz., Debra Fillmore and husband, Bob of York, Pa., and Donna Wormsbaker of Wisconsin; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved animal companions, Hannah and Faith.

Funeral arrangements are pending at the Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, 117 E. Charlemont Avenue, Kingsport, Tenn.
