Troy head football coach Larry Blakeney said that quarterback Luke Barnes, linebacker Brandon Powe and safety Angelo Hadley wouldn't be back with the team.
Barnes, who redshirted last year, is heading to junior college to work on his grades.
"We hope he can get back with us," Blakeney said. "There is a plan in place."
Hadley had 28 tackles last year as a reserve. Powe had just transferred in January from junior college. Both violated a team and/or university policy, Blakeney said, and neither will be back.
"Powe didn't express to us that he wanted to come back, but he also wasn't invited to come back," Blakeney said.
