Troy point guard Mo Weathers posted on his twitter feed (@mosesthedon_)Tuesday that he wouldn't be back at the school for his senior season.
Weathers' twitter post at 12:09 p.m. Tuesday said "To all the troy trojans family I really appreciate all ya support its been a wonderful three years but im skippn my senior season to go pro." You can read it HERE.
Troy head coach Don Maestri said Tuesday night that Trojan coaches have had talks with Weathers about options for his future, but Maestri said Weathers hasn't told them outright that he wouldn't be back.
Weathers couldn't be reached for comment Tuesday night as of 8 p.m. (If I'm able to reach him, I'll edit this) Students are taking exams now and semester grades are due sometime in the next few days.
The deadline to apply for the NBA Draft as an early entry has passed, but Weathers could pursue a career overseas.
Weathers led Troy (10-18 last season) in scoring at 12.2 points per game and led the Sun Belt with 5.3 assists per game. As a sophomore in 2010-11, Weathers earned all-conference honors. He transferred in from UCF and sat out the 2009-10 season.
Troy has signed one point guard, Pensacola State College's Antione "Fresh" Myers. Last year, Emil Jones served as the point when Weathers was on the bench. Troy had another point guard in Nic Combs, but he left the team last December.
