Super Bowl Update

Newstalk 1280 WGBF has released its schedule of high school football for this season, and the action looks to be intense.  The station will carry games for both Mater Dei and Reitz, and it all gets underway tonight as the Wildcats will take on the Heritage Hills Patriots at the Reitz Bowl.

Jimmie Ford will have the play-by-play and Ryan O'Bryan will provide color commentary for all the games this season.

All games will be carried on air (1280 AM) and online at newstalk1280.com.

Friday, Aug. 17th: Mater Dei vs. Heritage Hills at Reitz Bowl

Friday, Aug. 24th: Mater Dei vs. Central at Central Stadium

Saturday, Aug. 25th: Reitz vs. Louisville Central at Papa John’s Stadium – Pre-game at 9:30 a.m., Kick-off at 10 a.m.
Friday, Aug. 31st: Reitz vs. Castle at Reitz Bowl

Friday, Sept. 7th: Reitz vs. Central at Reitz Bowl

Friday, Sept. 14th: Reitz vs. Harrison at Reitz Bowl

Saturday, Sept. 15th: Mater Dei vs. North at Reitz Bowl – Pre-game at 1 p.m., Kick-off at 1:30 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 21st: Mater Dei vs. Bosse at Reitz Bowl

Friday, Sept. 28th: Reitz vs. North at Reitz Bowl

Friday, Oct. 5th: Mater Dei vs. Castle at Castle Stadium

Friday, Oct. 12th: Reitz vs. Mater Dei at Reitz Bowl

High school football season is about to begin, and WFMW-730 AM in Madisonville is ready to cover Madisonville-North Hopkins Maroons football from every angle for every fan.

The station will air 10 regular season games (click here for the full schedule) beginning this Friday when the Maroons will be at Christian County. Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with kick-off slated for 7 p.m.

Be sure also to catch the new season of the Thursday Night Quarterback Club which also begins this week. Tim Castleberry, new Maroons head coach Brock Shoulders and others will talk about the new season starting at 6 p.m.

And if you can't be close to the radio, this season you'll have options for following the Maroons - you can also listen online at wfmw.net, or, if you have an iPhone or Android device, you can use the WFMW App available in the iTunes Store and Play Store.

Fans of local high school football, take note:  WEHT Local and Local 7 WTVW - under the name of Your Sports Authority - have you covered this year.

Starting Aug. 17 (that's next Friday night), you'll be able to see nine regular-season Home Team Friday Games of the Week on Local 7.  The first game, between Reitz and Henderson County from Henderson will be tape-delayed and air after Eyewitness News at 9, but all other currently-scheduled games will air live.  (The schedule as it now stands is posted below.)

And of course, following the game each week, viewers will be able to tune in to WEHT Local after the 10 p.m. news for Home Team Friday to get all the scores and highlights from across the Tri-State.  HTF, as it has in past years, will air from 10:35 p.m. to 11:05 p.m.; Nightline will move to the slot immediately after Jimmy Kimmel Live on Friday nights during the season.
