Super Bowl Update

Obviously I could try to explain how Troy's 2012 spring practice went, but head coach Larry Blakeney could do it better than me. Here's what he said in his opening comments about the offense, defense, offseason, etc.

He did say that the new field turf is on track to be installed after Charles Henderson High does its spring ball, sometime in May. He said it was something he'd been waiting on for two and a half years, at least. Looking forward to seeing how that turns out.

Troy ran some scrimmage plays at the end (no refs, no stats). Deon Anthony and Dallas Tidwell took turns quarterbacking the first and second team units as those two are battling for the backup job. Several starters sat this one out. Khary Franklin did score one TD on a 14-yard run. Both QBs were intercepted, though both interceptions came on receivers not catching the ball and it landing into the arms of defensive backs. Dionte Ponter and Brynden Trawick had the interceptions.

Troy is as deep at running back as it has ever been.
