Troy started hitting and never stopped, beating Bethune-Cookman 26-3 on Saturday. You can read the game recap HERE.
Coach Bobby Pierce gave some guys who hadn't played much a chance, and boy, did they respond. In his first career start, sophomore second baseman Tyler Vaughn went 5-for-5, sophomore designated hitter Hayden Hillyer went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and freshman catcher Jake Harrell, in just his second start, went 2-for-4 with six RBIs. Jimmy Hodgskin pitched eight innings to get the win.
Several other guys stepped up as well. Just read the box score HERE.
The teams play the rubber game Sunday at noon. Haven't seen a starting pitcher listed yet for Troy.
