The third time wasn't a charm for Troy, which lost for the third time this year to South Alabama, 87-81, in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament.
The Jags got hot early and got up by 20. Troy cut the lead to 3, but the big advantage South Alabama had was on the boards. Troy went small in the second half and was able to come back and score based on quickness, but couldn't corral some key rebounds late.

It was the last game for senior forward Steven Cunningham and center Tim Owens. Troy has three scholarships to give in the offseason and a veteran team coming back, but still has holes to fill, especially down low.
