Troy begins a 3-game series at Bethune-Cookman in Daytona Beach, Fla., this weekend. I did write THIS STORY not so much previewing the series, but just picking coach Bobby Pierce's brain to see where things stand on the pitching staff.
These three games, plus the games Tuesday and Wednesday in Troy against UAB and East Carolina, will be 45 good innings, give or take a couple, for some pitchers to earn their stripes and solidify a rotation spot. With the games being close together early in the season, it'll give a lot of guys an opportunity.
