I actually read this Washington Guardian piece early Saturday morning and have been waiting patiently to see something on this topic elsewhere, ideally, at a South Florida-centric news website or blog, or a decent segment on TV with some real depth.

man grabbed another man's iPhone as he was on the steps leaving the station, stabbed him in the chest, and ran away.
Later accounts added that the victim is forty years 0ld. They reported that he got on the F train at Avenue I and that the train was headed northbound
