New York City Day 3: Selecting the Best for You!

Black Halo Jackie O dress

Dear Reader,
I love documenting "our" New York visit. And I especially enjoy hearing from you! Your feedback about which pieces and brands resonate with you will influence my final buying decisions. Thank you! Keep up the wonderful, inspiring comments!

Over the years I have heard many of you say that you don't like to shop. That's why you visit Renee's. I put a lot of time, care and thought into every item you eventually see at Renee's, from lines chosen to colors and sizes selected. Every piece at Renee's was hand chosen for you. I am your personal shopper!

There is not much play time here in New York when I'm on a buying trip. After I spend the day at the show, in the evenings I review and organize my notes, pore over photos and study the information. I rarely turn in an order right when I see a line. I edit my choices and pick the best of what I've seen. I will start writing my orders on the flight back to Seattle. After that, I'll spend a few more days filling in my budget, asking questions, and finally, turning in orders.

I have one more shopping day here in the big city. In the meantime, I've posted photos and information from my favorite lines I saw yesterday. Which lines and items are your favorites?

Sending love,
Renee

Create Instant Wardrobe Versatility With One Top

Tees by Tina navy long sleeve mock neck top.

Dear Readers,

On a recent visit with my sister Lori, she asked me to help organize her closet. After weeding out the dated items, we had trouble making outfits. And then it hit me. A few basic layering tanks and tops is all Lori needed to round out her wardrobe and create instant versatility.

Who knew that layering tops--so basic and so inexpensive--can be so vital in a wardrobe? They brighten up your clothing, broaden your apparel selection, and create a more versatile closet. They are the “worker bees” of your wardrobe investment.

Try Tees by Tina from Renee's. We just received a brand new shipment for spring. Pair these with your jackets and sweaters to expand your wardrobe instantly. Slip them under everything from dresses to other tank tops.

Customer Michelle Zimmerman models our latest arrivals.

Layering your clothes is a way to look chic and keep up with the latest trends in fashion. One or two will do the trick.

Tees by Tina is a one-size-fits-most seamless apparel collection. These tops are essential basics for any outfit and every woman. Each style, designed and made in the U.S., is ultra-comfortable, and their amazing array of colors are spot-on trend.

Don’t like fitted tops? We’ve all experienced wearing clothing that tends to “creep up” over time. Tees stay perfectly in place. Stunning as stand alones or lightweight enough for layering without adding extra bulk, they “hold you in” but still allow you to breathe easy.

What about you, dear readers? Have you found yourself returning to the same layering tops over and over? What is your most useful style? Is there a design that could add versatility to your own wardrobe?

Trying is believing. Give yourself options to wear with everything. Layering tops should be the “backbone” of your wardrobe. If you don’t have any (or if yours are looking tired) get a little pick-me-up! Put your clothing investment back to work for you with new tops from Tees by Tina today!

With love,

Renee

New York Buying Trip for Spring 2012

Hello, dear readers!

I returned from my twice-a-year buying trip to New York City late last night full of excitement, renewed energy, and enthusiasm.

I am thrilled about finding a beautiful spring collection of items for you that I think you'll just love! Some of the orders will arrive soon, but the majority will come in after Christmas.

Specifically, you'll find bright colors, including beautiful pink, green, and floral printed handbags from Hobo, and more innovative bags from Liebeskind. New smoothers and shapers will be arriving from Cass and Co. and Spanx. Of course the ever popular line Nic + Zoe collection looked wearable and useful, too.

Trends I noticed included "cold shoulder" tops (cut-out shoulders), and the color coral continues to be popular.

Of course I couldn't pass up ordering a few pieces of Annette Gortz for spring, including many of the items pictured here. If you want to see photos (or special order pieces for yourself) of the entire Annette Gortz line, please email me at reneesclothing@yahoo.com. I will reply with the entire look book.

Thank you for your continued support of Renee's boutique, where I custom order everything with you in mind. We hope you'll come in soon to take a look at all of our new fall arrivals!

With love,
Renee

Back from the Big Apple, Fashion Week in New York

I was inspired while shopping for you in New York City this week! I came home feeling energized and excited more than ever about the clothing, shoes, jewelry and accessories finds. I can hardly wait until you can see them, too!

It’s a given that Renee's provides classic, quality apparel. On the other hand I like to introduce you to new and innovative items that you haven’t seen anywhere else. After all, a boutique is all about unexpected finds and beautiful surprises in a collection of clothing you love to wear.

So what were some of the highlights? Jewelry artist Amy Leiner, whose original designs are earthy yet colorful, describes her jewelry as "a unique blend of color, balance, texture and style." Her pieces will top off an understated outfit perfectly. In recent years, Amy was invited to sponsor such events as the Academy Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, and the Emmy Awards.

I couldn’t pass up the cool shoes and boots from Donald Pliner and Aquatalia (new!).
Ian Mosh’s collection from the Basque Country in Spain was also spectacular.

Of course Annette Gortz, the German designer is always a delight. Her ever beautiful and avant-garde clothing is the best.

I found a new German handbag line called Liebeskind, which I loved! I also ordered special pieces from Louben, Sympli, Vanilia, Planet and Fabrizio Gianni.

It was my pleasure to search through thousands of lines for the perfect outfit, shoes and accessories for you in New York. I just know you are going to love it, too! Thank you for allowing me to shop for you in New York City, the most exciting fashion city in the world! Stop in soon to see the many new and colorful spring arrivals.
