Evansville's South Central Media is selling its 250-watt FM translator, W266AA-101.1 FM (Kodak, Tenn.), to Ra-Tel Broadcasting Co. of Knoxville, Tenn. for $175,000.
Ra-Tel is the owner of Knoxville religious AM station WKXV-900 AM.
The translator currently rebroadcasts South Central's adult contemporary WJXB-97.5 FM (Knoxville). It's been on the air for about two decades.
Approval from the FCC is pending.
EDITOR'S NOTE: South Central owns four full-power stations in the Knoxville market (WJXB, WNFZ-94.3 FM, WQJK-95.7 FM and WIMZ-103.5 FM), two in the Nashville market (WJXA-92.9 FM and WCJK-96.3 FM), and four in its home market of Evansville (WIKY-104.1 FM, WSTO-96.1 FM, WLFW-93.5 FM and WABX-107.5 FM). The company also operates WEJK-107.1 FM for Boonville Broadcasting Co. and owns a low-power HSN-affiliated TV station in Nashville (WJDE-LP).
